From the antique, Chinese doors to Venetian plaster wall treatments and an all-new kitchen featuring cherry cabinets, stainless appliances, built-in bench seating and a pocket door, this project—designed by Byrnes and Co.—called for a wide range of expertise as we took a turn-of-the-century Victorian house down to the bare bones and meticulously customized it for modern living. We installed a new floor made of old railroad ties, a decorative, alcohol-fueled fireplace, new windows, in-floor hot water heat, and a gorgeous new bath featuring vertical-grain cherry and travertine tile.

This was a big job with fantastic results! The client asked Milestone to remodel the entire house and build a new, 1800-square-foot two-story addition (900 square feet of living space on each level) that required the demolition of a previous add-on before new construction could begin. We worked with the client's architect to ensure that new and old played well together in this circa-1890 Victorian. Special features included authentic, labor-intensive detailing and a brand-new landscape/hardscape. The new chimney was built from salvaged bricks, saving money and lending continuity to the home.

All-new from start to finish, this condominium remodel called for expert carpentry and coordination with the client's interior designer and architect. We built two unique, completely custom wooden screens to help divide and delineate space in the entry area and bedroom. We also added custom-built cabinetry in the kitchen, bathrooms, office, living room, and library. Finally, we tore up old carpet and installed new hardwood floors, including a sound barrier system for the unit below.

This whole house remodel included installation of recessed lighting, a new kitchen with granite counters, and a remodeled bathroom. Special features included a spruced-up fireplace resurfaced in quartz and upgraded with installation of a new, high-performance gas insert. We worked with the client on design to ensure a polished, cohesive feel that fit well with the family's life and style.

We completely updated this Victorian house built in 1905, while respecting its history and craftsmanship. The project required us to change the layout of the house to better suit the owners' needs; rework a steam radiator heating system; and combine two separate bathrooms into a single, more luxurious space. We also installed new floors and updated the electric system for modern living.

This project involved a new bathroom and kitchen remodel. We enlarged the bathroom for a grander feel and moved the location of the shower. In addition, we put in new tiles, new plumbing, and new fixtures, and installed all new windows throughout the house. The kitchen featured new granite counters, new cabinets, and a new tile floor.

This condominium remodel from our early days was Milestone Remodeling's first-ever job as a general contractor. We turned a bedroom into a master closet and put our creative problem-solving to work by utilizing a crane to get a wall of custom-made cabinets into the third-floor, Victorian-style apartment.
